The Texas Board of Legal Specialization

Texas Personal Injury Attorney Shane R. Kadlec achieved Board Certification in Personal Injury Trial Law, in 2003 and was re-certified in 2008, as recognized by the State Bar of Texas. To be Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law, Mr. Kadlec meets the following requirements:

  • He has been licensed to practice law in Texas for at least five years;
  • He has devoted the required percentage of his practice to Personal Injury Trial Law for well over the required three years;
  • He has handled a wide variety of matters in Personal Injury Trial Law to demonstrate experience and involvement;
  • He attended continuing education seminars regularly to keep legal training up to date;
  • He was evaluated by fellow lawyers and judges (whom he tried cases before); and
  • He passed a 6-hour written examination in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law.

As of the spring of 2006, there are only 1,775 Board Certified Personal Injury Trial Law attorneys recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, which represents approximately two percent (2%), of all licensed attorneys in Texas.

Mr. Kadlec is a sustaining member of the Texas Trail Lawyers Association. The Texas Trial Lawyers Association was founded in 1949 to protect the rights of Texas' families. Today, more than 50 years later, TTLA has become the most influential group of trial attorneys in the state.
